My brother is in this Jim Beam ‘The Break’ competition at the moment. He’s competing for a $50,000 sponsorship to do a full year on the WQS. Finally there are waves on the Goldy again. The last couple of weeks saw the first proper swell hit the east coast and boy was it fun! Relocating to Burleigh point, the ‘Superbank’ was now running along the rocks at Burleigh and along with the bank came the crowds. I have been surfing it with a few of the boys and I have had my jack of all trades girl Hanzy on the lens at each session. Check it!
So the waves went flat here at Cloud 9 for 3 days, so we had 3 days of beer pong, pool and good times. The surf then picked back up and they finished the comp in 3 – 4 foot waves. Garrett ended up beating Makua in the final and will be taking home $7500. A few images to let you know what went down…
